For ages, the hidden side of the moon remained a mystery to humanity. It wasn't until the Apollo missions that we acquired sufficient data to craft the first comprehensive moon globes. Since the 1970s, the iconic Columbus globe has adorned countless classrooms and households, fashioned with hollow forms and meticulously hand-covered map images.

In recent years, advancements in moon exploration, courtesy of probes like LRO, Kaguya, and Clementine, have significantly refined our lunar knowledge. It became evident that the creators of the 1972 moon globe had taken liberties in some areas. While the initial maps of the moon's visible and hidden faces were available, peripheral regions, like Mare Marginis, Mare Australe, and particularly Mare Smythii, were inaccurately portrayed with fantastical landscapes.

Leveraging the latest LRO data, Columbus has crafted an exclusive new moon globe for us in a limited series! It stands as perhaps the world's first meticulously detailed moon globe.

Our moon globes are exclusive, individually numbered pieces, with map images meticulously hand-covered, ensuring superior resolution compared to earlier globes crafted through the deep-draw process.
