Following the overwhelming response to the AM5 assembly among astrophotography enthusiasts, ZWO has introduced the AM3, a new model designed to cater to users seeking a compact assembly for precise guiding of smaller optical tubes.

Similar to its larger counterpart, the ZWO AM3 offers both equatorial (EQ) and azimuthal (AZ) modes of operation. The EQ mode is specifically tailored for astrophotography needs, while the AZ mode provides a convenient observation configuration. Equipped with NEMA 35 stepper motors boasting a resolution of 0.17", and a total gear ratio of 300:1, the assembly allows for full control over your setup. You can control it via a handheld controller or application, as well as through a computer with ASCOM, INDI, and SkySafari compatible software. Additionally, this top-of-the-line assembly is fully compatible with the highly popular ASIAIR™ series controllers.

Despite its remarkable capabilities, the ZWO AM3 assembly remains compact and lightweight. The head supports the attachment of counterweights, enabling you to increase the maximum load capacity from 8 to 13 kilograms.
