Description
Celestron continues to lead the way in the field of electronics for astronomical observation with its latest innovation, the StarSense AutoAlign module. This groundbreaking product, featured in the Celestron Skyris camera series, has received the prestigious "Hot Product 2014" award from Sky & Telescope magazine.
So, what exactly is StarSense? Regardless of your level of experience with telescopes, anyone can become an astronomer in an instant. Simply connect the device to your telescope and select the alignment command on the StarSense remote control. The AutoAlign function kicks into action, capturing images of the night sky and comparing them with its extensive internal database. In just three minutes, the module gathers enough data to determine your precise position and align the telescope accordingly. Once this process is complete, your telescope is ready to unveil the wonders of the cosmos, showcasing captivating stars, planets, galaxies, and various other astronomical objects visible in the sky. It couldn't be easier!
Using a computerized telescope without the StarSense system requires a laborious alignment process, involving locating and centering at least two bright stars within the eyepiece's field of view. StarSense eliminates the need for user intervention by automatically aligning the telescope. All you have to do is input the date, time, and location, and StarSense takes care of the rest!
Even seasoned astronomers will appreciate the convenience of StarSense AutoAlign. This affordable device completely replaces the need for expensive software typically used for advanced assembly modeling. By utilizing its built-in assembly modeling, it achieves impressive accuracy across the entire expanse of the sky. If absolute precision is required, users can add up to 10 calibration stars to achieve an unprecedented level of accuracy, particularly beneficial for locating objects within the camera's field of view during astrophotography.
The Celestron StarSense module is compatible with a range of telescope models, including NexStar SE, CPC, CPC DX, NexStar GT, CGE Pro, Advanced VX, CG-5 GT, CGEM, CGEM DX, CGE, NexStar SLT, and LCM.
