Astronomik Filters ProPlanet 742 M49 (67183)

The Astronomik ProPlanet 742 IR-pass filter is a specialized tool for astrophotography, particularly designed for imaging the Moon and planets like Mars. It is best suited for telescopes with an aperture of 6" (150mm) or larger. This filter allows only infrared light with wavelengths above 742 nm to pass, significantly reducing the effects of atmospheric turbulence, or "seeing," compared to visible light. This results in sharper and more stable images.

Description

The Astronomik ProPlanet 742 IR-pass filter is a specialized tool for astrophotography, particularly designed for imaging the Moon and planets like Mars. It is best suited for telescopes with an aperture of 6" (150mm) or larger. This filter allows only infrared light with wavelengths above 742 nm to pass, significantly reducing the effects of atmospheric turbulence, or "seeing," compared to visible light. This results in sharper and more stable images. Additionally, it enables planetary and lunar photography during daylight by darkening the sky background.
