For observing and photographing sunspots and granulation: This filter is specifically designed for use in combination with a Herschel prism or AstroSolar film. It isolates a narrow spectral range centered at 540nm, which provides the highest contrast for solar granulation and sunspot structures.

Important: An IR-cutting filter is mandatory for safe visual observation when using AstroSolar 3.8 film.
