Lunt Solar Systems Filters anti-reflection for DSII/SFPT double-stack at LS80MT & LS100MT telescopes (77636)

The anti-reflection filter is designed as an accessory for the DSII/SFPT double-stack module used with Lunt Solar Systems LS80MT and LS100MT telescopes. Its primary function is to reduce reflections that can sometimes occur when using the double-stack module, improving the overall viewing experience.

With the LS80MT and LS100MT telescopes, double-stacking in H-alpha mode is possible using the internal DSII/SFPT modules. These modules narrow the bandwidth to less than 0.5 Angstroms, enhancing surface detail, increasing contrast, and making solar features like filaments and active regions more visible. However, the DSII modules can sometimes produce unwanted reflections, resulting in a bright “glow” around the Sun. While this glow does not interfere with surface observations, it can make it harder to observe solar prominences and may be distracting to some users.

The HRG/SFPT anti-reflection filter addresses this issue by effectively reducing these reflections. Please note that using the filter will make the image appear darker. The filter is user-friendly and can be installed without needing to send the telescope back to the manufacturer.

This anti-reflection filter is not a standalone product. It is only compatible with the LS80MT or LS100MT telescopes when used together with a DSII/SFPT Double-Stack module.
