Description
The Moravian Ethernet Adapter is designed to connect G0 to G4 CCD cameras to a control computer using an Ethernet interface. This adapter is especially useful for remote or long-distance camera operation, as it overcomes the cable length limitations of standard USB connections. It enables reliable data transfer and camera control over local or wide area networks, making it ideal for observatories or setups where the camera and computer are far apart. The adapter supports simultaneous connection of up to four cameras, streamlining multi-camera astrophotography projects.
Compatibility
Suitable for Moravian G0, G1, G2, G3, and G4 CCD cameras.
Functionality
Allows cameras to be connected to a PC via Ethernet using the TCP/IP protocol, supporting both local and wide area network configurations. The adapter contains up to four USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports, enabling up to four cameras to be connected at the same time.
Variants
Available in standard, mini, and micro versions, each with different form factors and power requirements but identical functionality.
Power Supply
The standard and micro variants are powered by a 12 V DC supply, while the mini variant uses a 19 V DC supply. A universal AC/DC power adapter is included.
Configuration
Network settings such as IP address and gateway are configured through a web browser interface. The device can also be equipped with a compatible USB WiFi adapter for wireless operation, though this reduces the number of cameras that can be connected by one.
Operation
The adapter is not a basic USB-to-Ethernet converter. It acts as an intelligent interface, ensuring reliable camera control and data transfer. The control computer communicates with the cameras over TCP/IP, and specific drivers are required for Ethernet operation.
Additional Features
The adapter starts automatically when powered and includes buttons for power, reset, and restoring factory settings. It is designed for robust, continuous use in demanding astrophotography environments.
