Description

The Nikon Headmount P2-FM Focusing Mount Adaptors are designed to help photographers and videographers use Nikon F-mount lenses on Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras. These adaptors are useful for those who want to make the most of their existing lens collections when upgrading to a new camera system. While they allow for greater flexibility and lens compatibility, some features may be limited depending on the lens and camera combination. Proper use and care of the adaptor are important to ensure reliable performance and avoid equipment damage.

The Nikon FTZ Mount Adapter connects Nikon F-mount NIKKOR lenses to Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras. It is not compatible with Nikon DSLR (F-mount) or Nikon 1-mount cameras, and cannot be used with 1 NIKKOR lenses. Before using the adaptor, check the compatibility of your lenses, as some features like autofocus or vibration reduction may not work with every lens.

Key Features

  • The adapter has a Nikon F-mount for the lens and a Nikon Z-mount for the camera body.

  • It includes electronic contacts for lens communication, mounting marks, a lens release button, and a tripod socket for added stability.

  • To attach, align the marks on the adapter and camera, rotate until it clicks, then attach the lens in the same way.

  • To remove, press the release buttons and rotate the adapter or lens in the opposite direction.

  • Some lenses, such as non-AI lenses, certain teleconverters, and specific vintage or specialty lenses, are not supported and should not be forced onto the adapter.

Usage Notes

  • Autofocus may be limited or unavailable with certain lenses. Manual focus or using the center focus area is recommended if autofocus does not work reliably.

  • Vibration reduction and peripheral illumination may not function as expected with some lens and adapter combinations.

  • When using heavy lenses (over 1300g), always support the lens directly and do not use the camera strap to prevent damage.

  • For telephoto lenses with tripod collars, attach the tripod to the lens collar instead of the adapter.

  • Keep the adapter’s contacts clean and dry to prevent rust or malfunction.

Care and Maintenance

  • Clean the adapter using a blower or soft brush. Do not use solvents.

  • Store the adapter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals when not in use for long periods.

Included Accessories

  • Body cap (BF-1B)

  • Rear lens cap (LF-N1)
