Description

The Nikon P-FL-C GFP-B Filter Cube is a fluorescence filter accessory designed for Nikon microscopes to facilitate the observation of green fluorescent protein (GFP) and similar fluorophores. This filter cube is commonly used in biological and biomedical research to visualize GFP-tagged proteins, cells, or tissues. By providing precise excitation and emission filtering, it enables researchers to achieve high-contrast, low-background fluorescence imaging, making it easier to detect and document fluorescent signals clearly and accurately.

Purpose:
Allows for fluorescence microscopy by providing the correct excitation and emission filters, along with a dichroic mirror, specifically for GFP and related fluorophores.

Filter Specifications:

  • Excitation filter: 470/40 nm (transmits light between 450 and 490 nm for GFP excitation)

  • Dichroic mirror: 500 nm (reflects excitation light and transmits emitted fluorescence)

  • Emission (barrier) filter: 535/50 nm (transmits GFP fluorescence between 510 and 560 nm)

  • Filter diameter: 25 mm

Compatibility:
Fits Nikon fluorescence microscopes and epi-fluorescence attachments that accept standard 25 mm filter cubes.

Key Features:

  • Efficiently detects GFP and similar fluorophores with strong signal and minimal background

  • Selective filtering enhances image contrast and clarity

  • Durable and easy to install or remove for quick changes between imaging channels

  • Suitable for repeated use in demanding research environments

Applications:
Imaging of GFP-expressing cells, tissues, or organisms
Visualization of FITC and other fluorophores with similar spectral properties
Cell biology, developmental biology, and molecular biology research
Documentation and analysis of fluorescently labeled samples

This filter cube is an essential tool for researchers working with GFP or similar fluorescent markers, ensuring reliable, high-quality fluorescence imaging on compatible Nikon microscope systems.
