Description

The Nikon P-FL-C GFP-L is a fluorescence filter cube designed for use with Nikon microscopes to enable the observation of green fluorescent protein (GFP) and similar fluorophores. This filter cube is commonly used in biological and biomedical research for imaging GFP-tagged cells, tissues, or proteins, providing high signal-to-noise fluorescence detection. By precisely selecting the excitation and emission wavelengths, the GFP-L filter cube ensures clear, high-contrast imaging, making it ideal for documenting and analyzing fluorescent signals in a variety of research applications.

Purpose:
Allows for fluorescence microscopy by providing the correct combination of excitation, dichroic, and emission filters optimized for GFP and related fluorophores.

Filter Specifications:

  • Excitation filter: 466/40 nm (transmits light between 446 and 486 nm for efficient GFP excitation)

  • Dichroic mirror: 495 nm (reflects excitation light and transmits emitted fluorescence)

  • Emission (barrier) filter: 525/50 nm (transmits GFP fluorescence between 500 and 550 nm)

  • Filter diameter: 25 mm

Compatibility:
Fits Nikon fluorescence microscopes and epi-fluorescence attachments that accept standard 25 mm filter cubes.

Key Features:

  • High transmission and sharp wavelength selection for strong GFP signal and minimal background

  • Durable construction for repeated use in laboratory environments

  • Easy installation and removal for switching between different fluorophores or filter cubes

  • Suitable for both routine and advanced fluorescence imaging

Applications:
Imaging of GFP-expressing cells, tissues, or organisms
Visualization of other fluorophores with similar excitation and emission spectra
Cell biology, developmental biology, and molecular biology research
Documentation and analysis of fluorescently labeled samples

This filter cube is an essential accessory for researchers using GFP or similar fluorescent markers, ensuring reliable and high-contrast fluorescence imaging on compatible Nikon microscope systems.
