Description

The Nikon P2-EFLM Epi-FL-Illuminator, motorized version, is an advanced epi-fluorescence attachment designed for use with Nikon SMZ18 and SMZ25 stereo microscopes. This motorized illuminator allows for automated and precise control of fluorescence imaging, making it ideal for research environments that require rapid switching between multiple fluorophores and consistent, high-contrast results. The system can be operated remotely or through Nikon’s NIS-Elements imaging software, supporting integration into automated workflows and complex experimental setups. It accommodates up to four filter cubes, providing flexibility for a wide range of fluorescence applications in cell biology, developmental biology, and materials science.

Purpose and Features:

  • Enables epi-fluorescence microscopy by directing excitation light through the objectives for detection of fluorescent signals

  • Motorized turret holds up to four filter cubes and allows automatic switching for efficient multi-channel imaging

  • Compatible with Nikon SMZ18 and SMZ25 stereo microscopes

  • Fly-eye lens system provides bright, uniform illumination across the field of view

  • Supports a variety of filter cubes, including options for GFP-B, GFP-L, RFP, and brightfield with a λ/4 plate

  • Operable via a dedicated control box or remotely through Nikon NIS-Elements software

  • Includes a light shading plate to minimize stray light and enhance image contrast

  • Designed for use with high-performance light sources such as the HG Precentered Fiber Illuminator Intensilight (C-HGFIE HG/C-HGFI HG, 130W)

Operation:

  • Switch between filter cubes using the control box or imaging software

  • Adjust light intensity and ND filters as needed for optimal imaging

  • Close the shutter or block the light source when not in use to prevent photobleaching

Applications:
Automated fluorescence imaging of cells, tissues, and embryos
Multi-channel imaging for research in developmental biology, neuroscience, and materials science
Routine laboratory imaging and advanced research requiring sensitive fluorescence detection

The Nikon P2-EFLM motorized Epi-FL-Illuminator is an essential accessory for researchers who need efficient, automated, and flexible fluorescence imaging capabilities on Nikon stereo microscope systems.
