Description

The Omegon Pro veLOX 678 is a high-speed camera designed for planetary, lunar, and solar astrophotography. Featuring the largest sensor and smallest pixels in the veLOX series, it also excels as an autoguider, offering high precision and a wide field of view that ensures you always have a suitable guide star.

Professional planetary, lunar, and solar imaging:
Capture the shadows of Jupiter's moons, the divisions in Saturn's rings, detailed lunar mountain ranges, or impressive solar prominences with outstanding clarity. These demanding targets require a very high frame rate to freeze atmospheric turbulence, a technique known as "lucky imaging." The advanced electronics and USB 3.0 high bandwidth of this camera make this process simple and efficient. The included Omegon AstroPhotoCapture software features a Region-Of-Interest function, allowing you to optimize frame rates by reading only the relevant part of the sensor containing your target.

Deep-sky astrophotography:
The modern CMOS chip in this camera is highly sensitive, making it much easier to image faint nebulae and galaxies than ever before. High quantum efficiency and low read noise allow you to capture details that are invisible to the naked eye.

Autoguiding:
Thanks to the high sensitivity of the CMOS sensor, you can find a suitable guide star anywhere in the sky, even among fainter stars. Short exposure times and high guiding frequencies help correct even small tracking errors. The camera is natively compatible with PHD2 and features a built-in ST4 guide port, making it an ideal choice for autoguiding.

Functional and lightweight design:
The robust anodized aluminum body is shaped like a 1.25" eyepiece, fitting any telescope without adding extra weight. The camera front is equipped with C- and CS-Mount threads, and with an adapter, a standard 1.25" filter thread. This allows you to attach small CCTV lenses or a wide range of astronomical filters directly.

Sensor protection and transmission:
A filter window protects the sensor chamber from dust and humidity. Color camera models include an infrared-blocking filter, ensuring accurate color representation by removing unwanted IR wavelengths. Mono camera models feature an anti-reflection window that is transparent from ultraviolet to infrared, giving you full control over your transmission curve with your own filters-ideal for advanced imaging and photometric work.

Wide software compatibility:
Omegon Pro cameras are compatible with many astrophotography programs via ASCOM and INDI interfaces. Native support is available for popular applications such as PHD2 and N.I.N.A., with compatibility expanding regularly.
