High sensitivity and low noise:
This compact camera delivers impressive results in deep-sky, planetary, and lunar photography, thanks to its high light sensitivity and low-noise images.

Deep-Sky Astrophotography:
The sensor is well-suited for capturing wide nebulae, star fields, and the lunar surface. Its size is comparable to those found in DSLR cameras, making it ideal for wide-field imaging.

Thermoelectric Cooling:
The cooling system lowers the sensor temperature by up to 40°C below ambient, nearly eliminating noise from dark current. This precise temperature control is especially useful for calibrating your astrophotos with dark frames, ensuring all frames are captured at the same temperature for clean, high-quality images.

Integrated USB Hub:
Two USB ports on the back of the camera help reduce cable clutter. You can daisy chain additional devices, such as guiding cameras, directly through this hub, eliminating the need for separate cables for each device.

Flexible Adaptation:
With a T2 thread and a short back focus of only 17.5mm, the camera can be adapted to almost any astrophotography setup. The included 2" nosepiece adapter allows you to connect the camera just like any 2" eyepiece.

Sturdy Carrying Case:
A robust case with custom foam inlay is included, providing peace of mind for transporting or storing your camera.

High-Speed Planetary, Lunar, and Solar Imaging:
Capture fine details such as the shadows of Jupiter’s moons, Saturn’s ring divisions, lunar mountain ranges, or solar prominences. High frame rates allow you to freeze atmospheric turbulence, making “lucky imaging” easy. The camera’s advanced electronics and USB 3.0 bandwidth support this technique. The Omegon AstroPhotoCapture software includes a Region-Of-Interest feature to optimize frame rates by reading only the relevant part of the sensor.

Sensor Protection and Transmission:
A filter window protects the sensor chamber from dust and humidity. Color camera models include an infrared-blocking filter to ensure accurate color representation. Mono models feature an anti-reflection window that is transparent from ultraviolet to infrared, allowing you to use your own filters for advanced imaging and photometric applications.

Software Compatibility:
Omegon Pro cameras work with a wide range of astrophotography software via ASCOM and INDI interfaces. Native support is also being added for programs like PHD2 and N.I.N.A.
