Practical and easy to use

At the start of your observing session, simply wrap the heating strip around your optical tube or eyepiece and secure it with the adhesive strap. When finished, it can be easily stored in your accessory case, always ready for your next session.

Effective dew prevention

Connect the heating strip to a suitable 12V DC power source using the supplied cinch/RCA plug. The strip uses only 0.2 watts per centimeter, keeping your optics just a few degrees warmer than the ambient temperature to prevent dew formation while conserving battery life. For even greater efficiency, the strip can be connected to a pulse controller, such as the recommended Omegon control unit, which allows you to connect and individually adjust up to two heating strips.

Why optics fog up

When your optics cool down, moisture in the air condenses on the cold surfaces, just like glasses fog up when moving from cold to warm environments. Omegon heating strips gently warm your optics, preventing condensation and allowing for longer, uninterrupted observing sessions.
