These upright laboratory microscopes are designed for routine work that requires extended use. The controls, including the stage drive, fine focus, and brightness adjustment, are easily accessible. Optika’s advanced ALC system provides maximum comfort and helps maintain relaxed working conditions throughout long sessions.

Optical System and Objectives

Models in the B-380 series are available with either a standard 160mm optical system or an infinity-corrected system (IOS), depending on the version. Both systems use eyepieces with a 20mm field diameter. The tube lens has a focal length of 180mm, and the objectives have a parfocal length of 45mm.

Microscope Stand

The stand is modern, ergonomic, and made from die-cast aluminium. It features coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs, with fine focus graduated to 0.002mm. Focusing tension can be adjusted, and a limit stop is included for added safety.

Heads

Available in both binocular and trinocular versions, the microscope heads include interpupillary distance control (55-75mm) and dioptric compensation. All heads are 360° rotatable and set at a 30° incline for comfortable viewing.

Illumination

The microscope uses an X-LED illumination system. Brightness is easily adjusted using a rheostat on the left side of the base.

X-LED 3 Illumination System

This system combines a high-efficiency single-chip LED with a special optical lens, doubling the light intensity compared to standard LEDs. The result is light output equivalent to a 50W halogen bulb, but with a white color temperature of 6300K instead of the yellow light from halogen bulbs. The system is highly energy-efficient, consuming only 3.6W-less than 10% of a standard halogen bulb’s power. The LED has a lifespan of 50,000 hours, compared to just 1,500 hours for halogen bulbs.
