QHY Camera 5-III-568-M Mono (82775)
The QHY Camera 5-III-568-M Mono is a high-speed, back-illuminated planetary and guiding camera from the QHY 5III V2 series. It features a global shutter for precise, distortion-free imaging and supports true hardware binning, which greatly improves signal-to-noise ratio and allows for very fast frame rates. With a maximum speed of up to 304 frames per second at nearly 1080p resolution, this camera is ideal for capturing fine planetary details and for use as a sensitive monochrome autoguider.

Description

Back-illuminated CMOS sensor
The back-illuminated design places the wiring beneath the photosensitive layer, increasing quantum efficiency and sensitivity. This allows more light to be captured, improving performance especially when imaging faint targets.
Global shutter
The global shutter exposes the entire sensor area at the same time, preventing distortion and ensuring uniform exposure across the image. This is especially beneficial for imaging fast-moving objects and for high-precision applications.
Hardware binning
The camera supports true hardware (charge-domain) binning, similar to CCD cameras. This method increases the signal-to-noise ratio without adding extra noise and allows for higher frame rates, unlike digital binning.
High-speed ROI performance
-
1236 x 1032: 304 fps (8-bit), 152 fps (16-bit)
-
1920 x 1080: 115.6 fps (8-bit), 62.1 fps (16-bit)
-
800 x 600: 439.6 fps (8-bit), 221.9 fps (16-bit)
-
480 x 480: 519.6 fps (8-bit), 262.8 fps (16-bit)
Monochrome camera
Monochrome cameras provide higher sensitivity and resolution compared to color cameras, making them ideal for advanced planetary imaging and guiding. However, capturing color images requires the use of external color filters and a filter wheel.
