The Rainbow Astro Mount RST-300 is a high-capacity, lightweight equatorial mount designed for serious astronomical observation and imaging. Despite its impressive payload capacity of 30 kg (and a maximum of 50 kg), the mount itself weighs only 8.5 kg, making it exceptionally portable for its class. Up to 30 kg of equipment can be mounted without the need for counterweights, which simplifies setup, enhances safety by eliminating protruding weights, and saves space in narrow observatory environments. The strain wave gear (harmonic drive) mechanism ensures minimal backlash, no required maintenance, and excellent durability, as proven in industrial robotics.

The RST-300 features a built-in brake system on the RA axis to prevent unwanted movement when powered off, and a home sensor for precise mechanical alignment-ideal for remote or permanent observatory installations. The mount is constructed from CNC-machined aluminum alloy AL6061, providing a strong, lightweight, and compact structure. Wireless control is available via built-in WiFi, supporting the SkySafari app and ASCOM drivers, and a built-in GPS receiver ensures accurate location and time settings.
