With the Vespera solar filter, you can safely observe the Sun during the day and track sunspots, which reveal the Sun’s activity. This accessory transforms your Vespera telescope into a powerful tool for solar observation, allowing you to become an astronomer both by night and by day.

Photographing the Sun
Use Solar Mode to observe the Sun in near real-time with live display on your device. Capture images at any moment from the Observation tab in the Singularity mobile app. Take multiple photos throughout the day, week, or month to compare and monitor changes in sunspot activity. Sunspots can last for several days, and sometimes even weeks, so you can witness the dynamic nature of our closest star.

Safe Solar Observation
The filter is constructed from a metalized foil with a dimming effect, significantly reducing sunlight to safe levels for your telescope. The Solar Mode in the Singularity app guides you through each step, ensuring both your safety and the protection of your equipment.

Important Warnings

• Never point your Vespera telescope at the Sun without the solar filter installed.

• Only use Vespera for solar observation with the Solar Mode feature in the Singularity app and the official Vaonis solar filter. Using any other method or filter may void your warranty and damage your equipment.

• Never look directly at the Sun without proper protection. Direct observation can cause serious eye injury or blindness.

• Do not attempt to open the lens ring containing the filter.

Instructions for Use

• Before using Solar Mode, ensure your Vespera has been used at least once at night for proper solar pointing.

• The filter is designed specifically for Vespera and fits easily into the optical arm. During daylight, with the lens protected from direct sunlight, remove the standard lens ring and replace it with the solar filter until it clicks into place. The fixing ring has an electronic card that allows Vespera to detect the filter.

• To confirm correct installation, connect Vespera to your device and open the Singularity app. In the Space Center, select Solar Mode and follow the step-by-step instructions.

• Store the filter in its transparent box after each use to prevent dust accumulation.

• If you see streaks or dust, gently clean the filter with an anti-static cloth, feather duster, or air blower.

• Do not spray the filter with cleaning agents to avoid damaging the surface.
