Description
MAGUS CHD50 is designed for integration with a microscope and includes built-in software for photo and video capture, image processing, and measurement tasks. It offers three types of connections—HDMI, WLAN, and USB2.0—making it easy to connect the camera to a computer or any compatible display device. The 8MP sensor delivers high-quality images in 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels), and the camera can automatically switch to Full HD (1920x1080 pixels) if the external screen requires it. Video is recorded at 30 frames per second. The autofocus function ensures that images remain sharp and clear, even if the subject moves, with no delays, tearing, or blurring.
Sensor Details
The camera is equipped with an 8MP SONY Starvis CMOS sensor that uses back-illumination for improved light sensitivity, reaching 505mV at a shutter speed of 1/30 second. The sensor measures 1/1.8'' with a pixel size of 2.0 x 2.0 μm. For the widest, undistorted field of view, use an adapter with a magnification between 0.5x and 0.75x.
Software and Connectivity
The camera connects to a computer via USB2.0 or WLAN, and to a TV, monitor, or projector via HDMI. When connected through HDMI, autofocus keeps the subject in clear focus for both photos and videos. The built-in software lets you edit images and measure linear and angular dimensions of objects. To make accurate measurements, calibrate the software for each objective lens using a calibration slide.
Microscope Integration
You can install the camera in the microscope’s trinocular tube or in the eyepiece tube in place of the eyepiece. In both cases, a C-mount adapter is required. For installation in the eyepiece tube, an additional adapter ring is needed to match the tube’s diameter.
Additional Device Support
For greater convenience, connect the camera to extra devices. A mouse (connected via USB) allows for stable operation without vibration. Photos and videos can be saved to an SD card or flash drive. To create a full imaging setup, use special MAGUS monitors, which can be mounted directly on the camera and are compatible with any MAGUS microscope.
