MAGUS CHD30 is a camera designed for use with microscopes, allowing you to capture photos and videos of specimens, edit them, and make precise measurements. The camera stands out with its ability to connect to a computer via Wi-Fi or to an external screen through the HDMI interface. The frame rate is 25 fps when connected by Wi-Fi, and 60 fps when connected by HDMI. When an external screen is connected, the camera’s autofocus ensures clear and sharp imaging, making the process of capturing photos or videos easier and more effective. The camera can operate independently, producing Full HD images (1920x1080 pixels). High frame rates and Full HD resolution deliver smooth, high-quality images without distortion.

Sensor

The camera uses a SONY color CMOS sensor with a size of 1/1.9" and pixel size of 3.75 x 3.75 μm. Back-illumination technology gives it high light sensitivity (1120mV at 1/30s), so it performs well even in low light or with fluorescent lighting. For the largest field of view without distortion, use an adapter with a magnification between 0.5x and 0.75x.

Software and Connectivity

Built-in software enables photo and video capture without a computer. You can display images directly on an external screen using HDMI at a frame rate of 60 fps. The software allows you to edit images and measure linear and angular dimensions of objects. Before taking measurements, calibrate the software for each objective lens using a calibration slide. If you prefer, you can connect to a computer via Wi-Fi and record video at 25 fps.

Installation on Microscope

The camera can be installed in either the trinocular tube or the eyepiece tube in place of the eyepiece, in both cases using a C-mount adapter. Installation in the eyepiece tube also requires an adapter ring that matches the tube diameter.

Support for Additional Devices and Accessories

You can connect a mouse to the camera for more stable control, minimizing vibrations. An SD card can be used to save images and videos directly to the camera. The CHD30 is compatible with special MAGUS monitors, which can be attached to the camera to create a complete visualization system.
