Lunt Solar Systems PCUSB Pressure-Tuner Controller with USB (59333)

The Lunt Solar Systems PCUSB Pressure-Tuner Controller with USB provides electronic control for the LUNT Pressure Tuner system. This device allows for precise, microprocessor-controlled adjustment of the Pressure Tuner using either direct console buttons or a USB connection to a computer (Windows 7 or higher required). It can be easily retrofitted to all LUNT instruments equipped with a Pressure Tuner, using the included adaptors and a simple air hose connection. The controller can be used at any altitude and automatically compensates for changes in internal pressure caused by temperature or environmental variations.

When powered on, the PC-USB system sets itself to ambient pressure within about 60 seconds. Operation is straightforward with two buttons: one to increase and one to decrease pressure. Digital feedback and clear displays provide accurate information, with a pressure control precision of 0.027 bar (0.4 PSI). The controller can be programmed to maintain a specific wavelength setpoint, keeping it constant regardless of the observation site’s altitude.

The system helps eliminate shaking that usually occurs during manual tuning, especially noticeable at high magnifications when observing phenomena like Doppler effects on solar filaments. With the PC-USB, tuning is stable and smooth, making observations more comfortable.

The PC-USB can run continuously for over eight hours on its internal battery and can also be powered and charged at the same time using an external 15V DC power supply. A three-meter air hose is included with the device. Note that the USB-B cable required for computer connection is not included.
