Description

The veLOX 715 C Color camera is equipped with the advanced Sony IMX715 sensor, featuring Starvis 2 back-illuminated technology. This sensor offers extremely smooth images without amplifier glow and stands out for its high resolution with 1.45 µm pixels. The camera is particularly suited for high-resolution photography directly at the focal point of telescopes, without needing focal length extension accessories like Barlow lenses. The small pixel size excels when used with fast, compact optics.

This camera is ideal for professional planetary, lunar, and solar astrophotography. You can capture fine details such as the shadows of Jupiter’s moons, divisions in Saturn’s rings, intricate mountain ranges on the Moon, and impressive solar prominences. These features in our solar system require high frame rates to freeze atmospheric turbulence, a technique known as "lucky imaging." The camera’s USB 3.0 interface ensures fast data transfer, making high-speed imaging simple. The supplied Omegon AstroPhotoCapture software includes a Region-Of-Interest feature, allowing you to read out only the sensor area containing the planet or feature, maximizing the frame rate.

For deep-sky astrophotography, the high sensitivity of this modern CMOS chip makes capturing faint objects like nebulae and galaxies much easier. The sensor’s high quantum efficiency and low read noise let you produce images that reveal details not visible through visual observation.

The camera is also excellent for autoguiding. Its sensitive sensor allows you to find a guide star anywhere in the sky, including faint stars. Short exposure times and high guiding frequencies correct even small tracking errors in your mount. The camera is natively compatible with PHD2 software and features a built-in ST4 guide port.

The camera’s sturdy body is made from anodized aluminum and has the form of a 1.25" eyepiece, ensuring it fits any telescope and adds minimal weight. The front of the camera has a C- and CS-mount thread, and with an adapter, it also accepts a standard 1.25" filter thread, allowing you to attach small CCTV lenses or a wide selection of astronomical filters.

A filter window protects the sensor chamber from dust and humidity. The Omegon Pro color cameras are equipped with an infrared-blocking filter to ensure true color representation, as CMOS sensors are sensitive to infrared light. Mono versions use an anti-reflection window that is transparent across ultraviolet to infrared, allowing you to use your own filters for complete control of the transmission curve.

Omegon Pro cameras are compatible with a wide range of astrophotography software via ASCOM and INDI interfaces, with growing native compatibility for programs such as PHD2 and N.I.N.A.
