William Optics Flat GT (85079)

A field flattener is a lens designed to correct the natural field curvature produced by primary telescope optics. This curvature can make stars at the edge of an image appear less sharp. By using a flattener, also known as a field flattener, this effect is corrected, resulting in astrophotography images where stars are sharp all the way to the edge. The flattener is positioned between the telescope and the camera.

For optimal performance, the camera sensor should be placed 60 mm from the rear thread of the field flattener.
