The Leupold Mark 5HD 3.6-18 × 44 35 mm M1C3 FFP Gunwerks RH1 MOA is a premium rifle scope designed for long-range shooting and hunting. Construction and Durability
The scope is built with a 35 mm aluminum tube (6061-T6), offering a wide adjustment range of 100 MOA for elevation and 80 MOA for windage. The eyepiece features a magnification ring with an oversized lever for quick and convenient adjustments. Its tube is filled with a patented argon-krypton gas mixture, which prevents internal fogging, reduces thermal shock effects, and enhances durability.

It is fully waterproof and has undergone Leupold’s rigorous testing process using the Punisher simulation machine, which subjects scopes to 5,000 recoil cycles—each with three times the force of a .308 rifle.

Parallax and Focus Adjustment
A side parallax knob allows smooth correction of parallax error, ensuring the reticle remains aligned with the target at varying distances. The parallax can be adjusted from 46 m to infinity. The adjustment dial has large, easy-to-read markings, useful even in low light conditions.

Optical System and Image Quality
Leupold’s professional optical system delivers outstanding light transmission, making it effective in poor lighting. It provides industry-leading glare reduction for clear images in direct sunlight and ensures high resolution and sharpness across all magnifications.

The 5× magnification range and field of view (9.4 to 1.9 m at 100 m) provide excellent visibility and situational awareness for both observation and long-range precision shooting.

Adjustment System and ZeroLock Mechanism
The scope uses a low-profile M1C3 turret system with 1/4 MOA adjustments. Graduations are easy to read, clicks are crisp and audible, and the system includes a visual indicator of turret rotations.

The ZeroLock feature ensures the reticle stays fixed and prevents accidental adjustments. The lock button physically blocks turret movement until pressed. The button also serves as a rotation indicator:

• First revolution – button protrudes.

• Second revolution – button aligns with the dial.

• Third revolution – button recesses into the dial, with a pin on the cover indicating its position.

These indicators are both visible and tactile, allowing reliable use even in darkness.

Reticle and Illumination
The Gunwerks RH1 MOA reticle, developed by American specialists, is designed for long-range precision shooting but also works well for hunting due to its open design. Being a first focal plane reticle, it scales with magnification, aiding in distance estimation and target acquisition.

The illuminated reticle has seven brightness settings and can be finely tuned for use with night vision devices. Illumination is controlled by a side knob with intermediate off positions between brightness levels.

The Motion Sensor Technology (MST) saves battery life by turning off the illumination after five minutes of inactivity, reactivating instantly when the rifle is moved. A battery status indicator warns when the CR2032 battery needs replacement.
