Celestron StarSense Autoguider V2 (94040)

New version available from August 2025: The StarSense Autoguider has been upgraded with a new, more sensitive sensor, taking its performance to an even higher level.

This compact camera offers a wide range of useful features for both astrophotographers and visual observers:

• Automatic alignment: Using Celestron’s patented StarSense technology, the telescope aligns itself with the night sky in about three minutes with no user input. Simply switch it on, wait briefly, and it is ready to use.

• Precise GoTo: Enhances the positioning accuracy of your Celestron mount, reliably placing celestial objects in the center of the field of view—even when using high magnifications or small imaging sensors.

• Autoguiding: Provides accurate tracking for long-exposure astrophotography, delivering pinpoint stars. Eliminates the need for a separate guide camera, guidescope, and guiding computer.

• Alignment assistance: Helps users complete an easy automatic procedure to properly align an equatorial mount.

• High-quality four-element optics: Designed by renowned optician Mark Ackermann, offering sharper performance than typical mini-guiders.

• Multiple control options: Operate the system via a NexStar+ hand controller or through CPWI software using a wired or Wi-Fi PC connection.

The camera’s sensor is integrated into a fully multi-coated, four-element optical assembly with a 28 mm aperture and a 120 mm focal length.

Compatibility:
The StarSense Autoguider works with nearly all motorized Celestron mounts, including the AVX, CGX, CGX-L, and CGEM II astrophotography mounts. It is also compatible with the CPC, NexStar SE, and NexStar Evolution azimuth mounts, which greatly expands its usability.

Not compatible with: NexStar SLT, AstroFi, SkyProdigy, and LCM.
