The Celestron NexStar Star Location Telescope (SLT) series consists of telescopes designed for intuitive use while offering high-quality professional optics and a precise, automated azimuth mount.

The Celestron NexStar 102 SLT MAK is a premium reflector that features a Maksutov-Cassegrain optical system. This design provides excellent correction of chromatic aberration and eliminates the frequent collimation required in Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tubes. To ensure maximum contrast and image clarity, the optical surfaces are treated with a full anti-reflective coating (FC).

The optical tube is mounted on a computerized azimuth mount operated by the NexStar+™ hand controller. Its internal database contains information on 40,000 key objects in the night sky. The set is supported by a stable steel tripod with wide height adjustment.

Note: The telescope normally runs on eight AA batteries, but it can also be powered using a separately available external battery pack.
