Canon EOS R10 – Compact, Versatile, and Creator-Friendly

The Canon EOS R10 is a small, lightweight mirrorless camera designed for photographers and content creators who need both portability and performance. It uses an APS-C sensor within the EOS R system and is built to handle both stills and video confidently, offering fast shooting, smart autofocus, and high-quality 4K recording for hybrid workflows.

24.2MP APS-C CMOS Sensor and DIGIC X Processor

The 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor sits at an ideal balance between detail, file size, speed, and low-light performance. It is well suited to everyday photography and UHD 4K video recording, keeping file sizes manageable for quick bursts and longer clips.

The DIGIC X image processor, inherited from higher-end models, powers fast operation across the camera. With this processor, the EOS R10 can shoot up to 23 fps with the silent electronic shutter or up to 15 fps with the mechanical shutter, while still performing AF and AE calculations before each frame. The processor also supports a sensitivity range of ISO 100–32000 (expandable to ISO 51200), making it usable in a wide range of lighting conditions.

UHD 4K and Full HD Video

For video creators, the EOS R10 provides UHD 4K 8-bit recording at up to 60p using a cropped area of the sensor, or 30p using oversampled 6K data from a wider area for sharper, cleaner footage with less moiré and noise. For slow-motion effects, Full HD recording is available at up to 120p.

HDR-PQ 10-bit recording is supported for in-camera HDR production, and a clean 4K signal can be sent via the micro-HDMI port to an external recorder. Recording times are effectively unlimited (within card and temperature limits), and there is a 3.5 mm microphone input plus a multi-function shoe for advanced audio and accessory options.

Dual Pixel CMOS AF II

Using Canon’s advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF II technology, carried over from the EOS R3, the EOS R10 offers fast, accurate, phase-detection autofocus across almost the entire sensor.

• Up to 651 automatic AF zones can be used for responsive focusing across the frame.

• The system can intelligently detect and track people, animals, and vehicles, automatically locking onto and following subjects during continuous shooting.

• The AF system can focus in very low light, down to approximately –4 EV, supporting accurate focusing in nighttime or dim conditions.

Body Design and Handling

The EOS R10 is designed to be intuitive and comfortable while remaining compact.

• A 2.36-million-dot OLED electronic viewfinder offers clear, high-resolution eye-level viewing with approximately 0.95× magnification. It benefits from fast processing and supports a high refresh rate for smooth, realistic motion.

• A 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen LCD with 1.04 million dots allows flexible framing from high, low, or front-facing angles and provides a responsive touch interface for menu navigation, focus control, and playback.

• A single SD card slot supports UHS-II cards, enabling smooth 4K recording and high-speed continuous shooting.

Connectivity and Multi-Function Shoe

The EOS R10 offers both wired and wireless options for sharing and remote control.

• Physical connections include a USB Type-C port, a micro-HDMI output, and a 3.5 mm microphone jack.

• Wireless connectivity is provided by 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for image transfer and remote shooting via compatible devices.

The updated multi-function shoe adds extra contact pins at the front of the hot shoe, allowing the camera to power and communicate with select accessories without separate batteries. Compatible accessories include the ST-E10 Speedlite Transmitter, DM-E1D digital stereo microphone, and AD-P1 Smartphone Link Adapter, as well as the AD-E1 adapter for older shoe-based accessories.
