Description

The GFX100RF is a unique large-format camera that makes 102-megapixel photography truly portable. Its compact, lightweight body weighs just 735 g, yet delivers the detail and tonality of a large-format 102 MP sensor. A precision-machined aluminum shell, tactile analog controls and versatile aspect ratios are designed to engage your hands, eyes and imagination every time you pick it up.

Rangefinder-style experience

The offset electronic viewfinder gives GFX100RF a classic rangefinder-style feel. This layout pairs perfectly with the small fixed lens and quiet leaf shutter, and it also helps you stay aware of the world beyond the frame, making it easier to anticipate and follow moments as they unfold.

A small body that opens up a big world

  • A smaller camera gives you more freedom to move.

  • A lighter camera lets you travel farther and carry it longer.

  • Higher resolution makes your memories more vivid.

  • A camera you carry every day turns ordinary life into endless opportunity.

The GFX100RF is designed to slip into almost any bag, weighing just 735 g (1.62 lb). Wherever you go, you carry the power of large-format photography with you, ready to capture your own unique perspective.

Photography that speaks to your senses

From the feel of the shutter dial to the creative framing possibilities of the viewfinder, GFX100RF is built to make the act of photographing enjoyable and immersive. Its controls and interface are meant to connect you closely with the image-making process, not distract you from it.

Aspect Ratio dial

A dedicated Aspect Ratio dial lets you quickly choose the frame shape that suits your vision. You can select from nine ratios, including:

  • Classic photographic formats: 5:4, 3:2, 1:1

  • Fujifilm-inspired formats: 17:6, 3:4, 65:24

  • Other creative options for different subjects and outputs

Changing aspect ratio becomes a deliberate, physical part of your creative process.

Tactile dials and teleconverter control

Machined aluminum dials for shutter speed, ISO and exposure compensation move with a smooth, precise feel. Each adjustment becomes a small moment of interaction with the camera. The lens aperture ring and the digital teleconverter toggle are also designed to feel intuitive and satisfying, turning even digital functions into something tactile rather than abstract.

Intuitive interface and immersive view

The 3:2 LCD layout puts key icons and information where they remain visible but unobtrusive, so your attention stays on the image. A Surround View function can show a semi-transparent overlay of the area outside the active frame, helping you see what is coming into your composition and making framing more fluid and intuitive.

High-magnification EVF

The 0.5" OLED electronic viewfinder has 5.76 million dots and up to 0.84× magnification, giving a clear, detailed connection between the three-dimensional scene and your final two-dimensional image. It helps you judge focus, tonality and composition with precision.

Classic design with modern performance

GFX100RF blends advanced technology with a design that recalls classic cameras. It offers top-tier image quality in a body that feels approachable and inspiring. Simply holding it is satisfying; once you start shooting with it, it encourages you to keep exploring creatively.

Craftsmanship in every detail

This camera is conceived as part of your creative process, not just a tool. The top and base plates, aperture ring, hot shoe cover and battery door are precisely machined from aluminum. Sharp, defined edges, solid construction and the warmth of the metal’s thermal properties create a distinctive tactile experience. Every detail has been shaped with care, turning simple handling into a source of inspiration.

Accessories that match the camera

Included accessories are designed to complement both performance and aesthetics. The adapter ring shares the same premium finish as the body and integrates seamlessly with the lens hood. Combined with filters, it helps improve weather resistance while maintaining the camera’s clean lines. The supplied strap balances comfort, portability and security, giving you a reliable way to carry the camera all day.

A natural view with a 35 mm lens

The built-in 35 mm lens (equivalent to 28 mm in 35 mm format) is known for its natural, versatile perspective, close to how we perceive the world. Paired with the 102 MP large-format sensor, it records scenes with stunning clarity, subtlety and realism.

Newly designed 35 mm F4 lens

  • Optical design: 10 elements in 8 groups, including two aspherical elements

  • Nano GI Coating to reduce flare and reflections across the frame

  • Compact dimensions while maintaining high edge-to-edge sharpness

  • Smooth, accurate autofocus driven by a DC motor

For the first time in a GFX system lens, this lens includes:

  • A built-in 4-stop ND filter for working with wide apertures in bright light

  • A leaf shutter that can sync flash at any available shutter speed

These features offer powerful creative control, especially when working outdoors with flash or in high-contrast conditions.

Close focusing for shallow depth of field

The minimum focusing distance is approximately 20 cm from the front of the lens, inviting you to move closer and experience the scene more intimately. At close distances, the shallow depth-of-field produces smooth, large-format bokeh and a distinct, three-dimensional rendering.

Overwhelming image quality

The GFX100RF is built for image quality above almost everything else. It records fine textures, delicate colours and smooth tonal transitions so you can crop aggressively or print very large without losing detail.

With its GFX 102MP CMOS II large-format sensor and high-speed X-Processor 5, it sets a new benchmark:

  • 102 million effective pixels

  • 43.8 × 32.9 mm sensor size

A redesigned pixel structure and microlens layout provide:

  • Wide dynamic range

  • Low noise

  • High sharpness from corner to corner

  • Improved autofocus accuracy across the frame

Film Simulation and creative options

You no longer need different films or multiple bodies to achieve different looks. GFX100RF offers:

  • 20 Film Simulation modes, including classic looks like PROVIA, Velvia, ASTIA, Classic Chrome, ACROS and REALA ACE

  • Nine aspect ratios, changeable from frame to frame

  • Custom settings to save your preferred combinations of colour, contrast and other parameters

This gives you tremendous control over how your images look, directly in-camera.

Redefining large-format performance

Fast and accurate autofocus

Enhanced algorithms improve predictive AF and face/eye detection. AI-based subject detection, using deep-learning technology, recognises:

  • People

  • Animals and birds

  • Vehicles

Autofocus tracking for video is also improved, with touch-based subject selection making it easy to follow your chosen point of interest.

Video for visual storytellers

GFX100RF records:

  • 4K/30p video with 4:2:2 10-bit internal recording

With a base ISO of 100 in video, it delivers low-noise footage with rich tonality. F-Log2 offers 13+ stops of dynamic range* for flexible grading. Digital image stabilisation (DIS) helps reduce camera shake and walking motion when recording handheld.

*In F-Log2 with appropriate dynamic range settings.
