The FUJIFILM GFX 100S redefines medium format by combining an ultra–high-resolution 102MP sensor with a compact and portable mirrorless camera body. It is built for both photography and video, featuring durable construction, in-body image stabilization, and fast, accurate autofocus that make it suitable for a wide range of shooting situations.

At the core of the GFX 100S is a 102MP 44 x 33mm backside-illuminated CMOS sensor. This sensor delivers extremely high detail for still photography and supports impressive 4K video capabilities. Paired with the X-Processor 4, the camera produces 16-bit raw files with wide dynamic range, low noise, and sensitivity up to ISO 12800. The BSI design improves clarity and color accuracy in various lighting conditions. For video, the camera records DCI and UHD 4K at 4:2:0 10-bit internally, 4:2:2 10-bit externally via HDMI, or 12-bit raw when using an external recorder. F-Log gamma is available for advanced color grading. The hybrid autofocus system includes 425 selectable phase-detection points that cover most of the frame, along with face- and eye-detection capabilities.

Despite its high-resolution sensor, the GFX 100S is remarkably compact, offering new possibilities for handheld and on-location work. The lightweight body incorporates in-body image stabilization providing up to 6 stops of correction for smoother handheld shooting. This stabilization also enables Pixel Shift Multi-Shot, allowing the camera to create 400MP images of static subjects. The camera features a fixed 3.69m-dot electronic viewfinder and a 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD with a three-way tilting mechanism.

102MP BSI CMOS Sensor and X-Processor 4
The large 102MP 43.8 x 32.9mm BSI CMOS sensor, paired with the X-Processor 4, produces 16-bit still images with wide dynamic range and an ISO range of 100–12800, expandable to 50–102400. The sensor’s large pixels allow excellent light gathering, smooth tonal transitions, and the signature medium format depth and look. Several classic medium and large format aspect ratios are included, such as 1:1, 65:24, 5:4, 7:6, 3:2, and 16:9. The system supports continuous shooting up to 5 fps and DCI/UHD 4K video.

UHD and DCI 4K Video Recording
The GFX 100S offers internal DCI and UHD 4K 30p recording at 4:2:0 10-bit and external 4K 30p recording at 4:2:2 10-bit via HDMI. When paired with an Atomos Ninja V, it can output UHD 4K 30p 12-bit raw in Apple ProRes RAW. The quad-CPU X-Processor 4 ensures fast sensor readout to reduce rolling shutter. In addition to 10-bit recording, F-Log is included for flat color profiles suited for grading. HLG is supported for HDR workflows, and Film Simulation profiles can be used with external raw output. The camera includes 3.5mm headphone and microphone jacks.

Sensor-Shift Image Stabilization
The built-in 5-axis stabilization system reduces camera shake for handheld shooting and provides up to 6 stops of correction when used with optically stabilized GF lenses.

Body Design
The body is more compact and lightweight than previous GFX 100 models, ideal for handheld and location work. It is constructed from magnesium alloy, weather-sealed against dust and moisture, and freeze-resistant down to 14°F. The fixed 3.69m-dot OLED EVF provides a bright, detailed view, and the 3.2-inch touchscreen LCD tilts in three directions for flexible shooting angles. The camera uses the NP-W235 battery, supporting approximately 460 shots per charge. Dual UHS-II SD card slots allow sequential, backup, or separated JPEG/RAW storage. The FUJIFILM G mount offers a short 26.7mm flange distance for optimal optical performance. A 1.8-inch top display provides quick access to settings. The exposure mode dial includes six custom slots. Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi enable wireless image transfer and remote operation.

Hybrid Autofocus System
The phase-detection AF system includes 425 selectable points covering almost the entire frame and performs well in low light down to -5.5 EV. The X-Processor 4 supports fast subject tracking and Face/Eye Detection in both stills and video.

Additional Features
Film Simulation modes replicate the look of classic FUJIFILM film stocks, including Nostalgic Neg., Provia, Velvia, Astia, Classic Chrome, Classic Neg., Pro Neg. Hi, Pro Neg. Standard, Eterna, Eterna Bleach Bypass, Acros, Monochrome, and Sepia. Grain and Classic Chrome effects can be fine-tuned. Pixel Shift Multi-Shot creates 400MP composite images from 16 raw frames using FUJIFILM’s software. Interval shooting supports up to 999 frames, and multiple exposure mode combines two consecutive frames with LCD preview. Supported file formats include uncompressed and compressed raw, Super Fine/Fine/Normal JPEG, and TIFF output through in-camera raw development.
