For the first time in the X-S series, the 26.1MP X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor is paired with the X-Processor 5 imaging engine. The X-S20 features an intuitive, refined design for smooth handling and efficient operation. It has enlarged dials and clearly defined buttons for confident control.

A 2.36m-dot electronic OLED viewfinder provides a clear eye-level view, while the 3.0" 1.84m-dot rear touchscreen LCD uses a vari-angle design, making it easy to shoot from high, low, or front-facing angles. The screen can also be closed against the body to protect it and reduce distractions.

Connectivity includes a USB-C port for tethering and data transfer, plus built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Using the FUJIFILM XApp, you can transfer images, view Live View, adjust settings, and control the camera remotely. Low-light capability is strong thanks to a native ISO range of 160–12,800, and in-body image stabilization further improves handheld shooting.

The X-Trans sensor uses a randomized pixel array, allowing FUJIFILM to omit an optical low-pass filter. This helps maintain high sharpness and fine detail while reducing moiré and aliasing. The design also aims to mimic the organic look of film with nuanced color and tonal transitions.

Continuous shooting performance reaches up to 30 fps (cropped) and 20 fps (uncropped) with the electronic shutter, and up to 8 fps at full resolution with the mechanical shutter.

Improved Autofocus

Using the X-Processor 5 and Deep-Learning AI technology, the X-S20’s subject-detection autofocus can recognize and track human faces and eyes, as well as animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, and drones.

An improved autofocus prediction algorithm keeps focus steady when tracking moving subjects, especially in Zone AF and low-contrast conditions. In AUTO mode, autofocus and subject detection work together to keep your subject sharp, letting you focus more on composition and timing.
