The Hasselblad 907X 50C is a uniquely modular medium format system that combines the aesthetic and handling of Hasselblad’s classic film cameras with the advanced digital capabilities of their modern lineup. The system consists of the 907X camera body and the CFV II 50C digital back, which work together to create a flexible and distinctive photographic tool.

The 907X is the smallest and lightest medium format camera body Hasselblad has ever produced, measuring just over an inch thick and weighing only 7 ounces. Its design echoes the well-known 500-series V-system, acting primarily as a bridge between the V-style interface of the CFV II 50C digital back and the X-mount used for XCD lenses and various adapted lenses.

The CFV II 50C digital back brings modern digital performance to the classic V-system mount. Featuring a 50MP 43.8 × 32.9mm CMOS sensor, it delivers high-resolution images with a wide 14-stop dynamic range, a 16-bit color depth, and an ISO range from 100 to 25,600. Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution provides accurate, pleasing color reproduction with smooth tonal transitions. The back also includes a 3.2" tilting touchscreen, an internal rechargeable battery, built-in Wi-Fi, and GPS for geotagging.

907X Camera Body

Compact and lightweight, the 907X serves as the interface between the CFV II 50C digital back and the X-system lens lineup. Its X-mount allows the use of autofocus, leaf-shutter XCD lenses, and access to wide-angle options not available on classic V-system bodies. With adapters, the system can also use HC, HCD, V, XPan, and third-party lenses.

50MP CMOS Sensor with Natural Color Solution

The CFV II 50C features a large 50MP CMOS sensor measuring 43.8 × 32.9mm. It provides up to 14 stops of dynamic range and 16-bit color depth to produce detailed, lifelike images with rich tonal transitions. The Natural Color Solution ensures accurate and natural color reproduction without reliance on presets. ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 25,600, and images can be saved in 3FR raw, JPEG, or TIFF formats.

Back Design and Features

• Compatible with the included 907X body, any Hasselblad V-system camera from 1957 onward, and technical/view cameras with a V-style mount.

• 3.2" 2.4m-dot tilting touchscreen with a 60 fps refresh rate for smooth operation. The touchscreen supports drag-and-drop autofocus point selection and pinch-to-adjust AF point size.

• Internal lithium-ion battery for a slimmer profile reminiscent of classic A12 and A16 film backs; charges via USB-C while installed.

• Dual SD card slots supporting UHS-II for fast data transfer.

• Built-in Wi-Fi for wireless image transfer and remote control.

• USB-C port supports file transfer, tethered shooting with compatible tablets, and battery charging from a computer or power bank.
