The Hasselblad H6D-100c Digital Back is designed as a flexible, high-end imaging solution that can be used on both view and technical cameras as well as on H6D system bodies. Built around a large 100MP CMOS sensor measuring 53.4 x 40 mm, it delivers an impressive 15 stops of dynamic range, 16-bit color depth, and a wide ISO range from 64 to 12800. Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution helps maintain accurate, consistent color rendition and smooth tonal transitions. In addition to still images, the back can also record UHD 4K and Full HD video in Hasselblad RAW format.

The physical design includes a 3.0" 920k-dot touchscreen LCD for live view and menu navigation. A Mini HDMI port enables connection to external monitors. For storage, the back offers both CFast and SD card slots, and it also supports tethered shooting and file transfer via a USB 3.0 Type-C connection.

H6D-100c Digital Back Use and Compatibility

This digital back offers a versatile imaging option for photographers using technical view cameras as well as H6D system bodies.

• For view cameras, it supports a Flash Sync Mode and allows triggering with mechanical or electronic shutters through a flash sync to 2.5 mm connection.

• A dedicated Pinhole Exposure mode allows the use of shutterless lenses and pinhole setups, with exposure times ranging from 60 minutes down to 1/8 second.

• When used independently from an H-series body or without tethering, external 18W, 12–24 VDC power sources can be connected via a 1.35 mm ID barrel plug.

In addition to technical and view camera setups, the back is fully compatible with H6D camera bodies. The H6D bodies feature updated button layouts optimized for use with H6D digital backs. It is not recommended to mount this back on older H-system bodies from previous generations.

100MP CMOS Sensor and Image Quality

At the core of the H6D-100c is a 100MP CMOS sensor measuring 53.4 x 40.0 mm. It provides:

• 16-bit color depth for smooth, detailed tonal transitions

• Excellent rendering of skin tones and subtle gradations, even in deep shadows and bright highlights

The Hasselblad Natural Color Solution ensures natural, lifelike color without heavy reliance on presets. The sensor’s ISO range of 64–12800 supports shooting in a wide variety of lighting conditions. Still images are saved in Hasselblad’s 3FR raw format for maximum flexibility in post-processing.

UHD 4K and Full HD Video Recording

Beyond high-resolution stills, the H6D-100c digital back can also capture:

Video footage is recorded in Hasselblad RAW format and can be converted to Apple ProRes using Phocus 3.0 software for efficient editing and grading. Full HD video can also be recorded in the H.264 format for broader software compatibility and more streamlined workflows.
