The silver Hasselblad X1D-50c Medium Format Mirrorless Digital Camera is designed to redefine what medium format can be. It uses a proven 50MP CMOS sensor measuring 43.8 × 32.9 mm, normally found in larger medium format systems, and places it inside a compact mirrorless body. Designed and handmade in Sweden, the camera combines precision engineering, excellent ergonomics, and a size that competes with many smaller-format cameras. The large sensor works together with Hasselblad’s Natural Color Solution to produce outstanding RAW images with smooth tonal gradation, thanks to 16-bit color depth and up to 14 stops of dynamic range.

Image quality is clean and detailed across an ISO range of 100–25600, and the camera can shoot at up to 2.3 frames per second. The X1D uses a Hasselblad Central Lens Shutter, providing shutter speeds from 60 minutes to 1/2000 second, with full flash sync available at every speed. For motion work, it records Full HD 1080p video at 25 fps using H.264 compression.

A 2.36MP XGA electronic viewfinder offers natural eye-level composition with the advantage of overlays and customizable shooting information. This includes support for different aspect ratios, such as square and the classic XPan panoramic format, with the viewfinder automatically adjusting to show the correct framing. On the back of the camera, a 3.0" 920k-dot touchscreen LCD allows intuitive control of settings and clear live view monitoring.

For direct, tactile control, the X1D features front and rear command dials and a mode dial that can be locked in a recessed position to avoid accidental changes during transport. Dual SD card slots provide flexible storage: ideal for backup, file organization, or extended capacity. Modern connectivity is built in, with Wi-Fi for remote operation and file transfer, plus Mini HDMI, audio input and output, and a fast USB 3.0 Type-C port.

Hasselblad X System

The X system introduces mirrorless medium format in a compact and modern form. It combines the imaging benefits of a large sensor with a camera design inspired by Hasselblad’s legendary V system. By using a central lens shutter and mirrorless architecture, the system keeps operational noise and vibration to a minimum, making it suitable for quiet environments and long exposures without disturbing the subject.

Hasselblad Natural Color Solution

This color system is designed to produce natural, accurate colors without heavy reliance on presets or extensive post-processing. Together with 16-bit color depth, it creates very smooth tonal transitions that evoke the look of high-quality analog film.
