The native ISO range of 100–51,200 can be expanded to 50–204,800, and the camera supports continuous shooting at up to 7 fps when using the optical viewfinder or up to 12 fps in Silent Live View mode.

For video creators, the D780 records UHD 4K at up to 30 fps using either the full sensor width or a DX crop area. Full HD 1080p recording is available at up to 120 fps for smooth slow-motion playback.
