Description

The OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II is the first flagship camera to carry the OM SYSTEM name and a refined evolution of the original OM-1. Built on the Micro Four Thirds platform, it features a 20.4 MP stacked BSI Live MOS sensor and TruePic X processor, delivering high-quality images, fast autofocus and strong low-light performance with a native ISO range of 200–25,600 (expandable to 80–102,400). Thanks to the 2× crop factor, it is especially well suited to wildlife and nature photography, giving extra reach with telephoto lenses. A 5-axis in-body image stabilization system helps keep handheld shots sharp, and the overall design emphasizes mobility, precision and reliability for both stills and video.

The Mark II adds several notable improvements over the OM-1, including stronger AI subject detection for humans, built-in live graduated ND filters, an updated menu system, 14-bit raw output, and rubberized dials for better control.

Autofocus – Cross Quad Pixel AF

The OM-1 Mark II uses a sophisticated Cross Quad Pixel AF system with 1053 phase-detection points:

  • AF points densely cover almost the entire image area, allowing focus to be acquired virtually anywhere in the frame.

  • The camera can automatically recognize and track subjects such as birds, humans, other animals, cars, airplanes and trains.

  • The AF algorithm, in combination with the TruePic X processor, delivers fast and reliable focusing and tracking behavior for both stills and video.

Key Mark II Upgrades

  • Around 20% more effective image stabilization, offering up to approximately 8.5 EV of shake compensation.

  • Rubberized dials for a more tactile, secure feel in operation.

  • Menu button can be reassigned to Delete, allowing quicker image review and deletion without moving your left hand from the lens.

  • 14-bit raw output for greater tonal range and smoother gradations.

  • Improved blackout-free sequential shooting for a more continuous view during bursts.

  • Vertical video support for more composition options and easier delivery for social formats.

  • Live GND8 and ND128 functions for in-camera graduated and strong neutral density effects.

  • Enhanced Human AI subject detection AF for better tracking of people.

Built for Tough Environments

  • IP53-rated weather sealing provides strong protection against dust and splashes.

  • The body is freeze-resistant and rated to operate in temperatures as low as 14°F (−10°C).

  • Construction is designed to withstand harsh outdoor conditions and demanding field use.

Video Features

  • DCI 4K and UHD 4K recording up to 60p with 10-bit 4:2:0 internal color sampling.

  • Full HD (1080p) recording at frame rates up to 240 fps for smooth slow-motion playback.

  • Vertical video recording is supported, enabling vertical compositions in-camera and reducing editing time later.

  • Log and HLG gamma options (FLAT, HDR-HLG, OM-Log) for flexible color grading and HDR workflows.

Live ND and Live GND

  • Live ND supports densities up to ND128, simulating strong neutral density filters to allow long exposures and motion blur without physical filters.

  • Live graduated ND (GND8 and GND128) simulates graduated ND filters in-camera, making it easier to balance sky and foreground exposure.

  • The effects of these digital filters can be previewed in the viewfinder and on the rear LCD.

Other Useful Features

  • 5.76M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder for a detailed, bright eye-level view.

  • 3.0" 1.62M-dot articulating touchscreen LCD, supporting flexible shooting angles and front-facing use.

  • Dual UHS-II SD card slots for backup, overflow, or separation of file types.

  • Focus stacking of up to 15 images and focus bracketing of up to 999 frames for extended depth of field in macro and product photography.
