The camera uses a 20MP back-illuminated CMOS sensor to capture high-resolution still images and UHD 4K 30p video. A 5x optical zoom lens covers an equivalent focal length range of 28–140mm, from wide-angle to telephoto, and multiple digital Shake Reduction modes help produce sharper handheld photos.

UHD 4K Video and Movie SR+ Stabilization
The G900 supports UHD 4K 30p video recording for detailed, high-resolution footage. For steadier video when moving, the Movie SR+ mode functions like an electronic gimbal, reducing the appearance of camera shake. A more conventional Movie SR mode can also be used for a natural-looking image with less distortion by cropping the frame to stabilize the footage.

• You can fully or partially lock the camera, restricting main functions such as overall access, menu access, internal memory viewing, and USB connectivity

• Unlocking can be done via on-screen password input or by scanning a dedicated barcode

• Up to two separate passwords (user and administrator) can be created

• SD memory cards used in the camera can be encrypted, helping prevent unauthorized viewing of images if a card is lost or stolen

Additional Worksite-Oriented Features

• The LED ring light supports a dedicated Barcode Scanning mode for quickly recording item or location codes.

• Transparency Guide allows you to overlay a previously captured image on the LCD as a semi-transparent template (20–80% transparency), helping you replicate compositions to monitor construction progress or perform before/after comparisons. Two images can be recalled for instant visual comparison.

• Image Clipping lets you view related images together on a computer, such as a worksite overview and corresponding measurement data.

• A set of clear, legible Ricoh RT fonts is available for adding text overlays directly to images.

• In addition to a single SD card slot, 6.5 GB of internal memory is built in for backup storage.

• An Electronic Level helps maintain level horizons and verticals when shooting.

GPS and Compass System
The G900 includes a high-accuracy GPS module compatible with the latest SBAS systems and supports QZSS, GLONASS, and U.S. GPS satellite networks for faster and more reliable positioning. Activation times are approximately:
