This 60×/0.80 objective offers a resolution limit of 0.35 µm. Chromatic aberrations are corrected for blue and red wavelengths, spherical aberration is corrected for green, and field curvature is corrected across 90% of the field of view diameter, ensuring high image clarity and consistency.

The objective is designed for infinity-corrected optical systems and features a parfocal distance of 45 mm. When paired with a 10×/20 mm eyepiece, it provides a 0.33 mm field of view diameter. It is optimized for specimens mounted with 0.17 mm cover slips, ensuring accurate focusing and image quality.

When using a 60× objective, the microscope’s useful magnification range begins at 400×. Below this level, fine specimen details cannot be resolved effectively. The upper useful magnification limit is 800×; magnifications beyond this point do not reveal additional detail and are considered optically ineffective. For best performance with the 60×/0.80 objective, eyepieces with magnifications between 7× and 16× are recommended.

Plan achromatic optics ensure that the image remains in focus both at the center and at the edges of the field, resulting in minimal distortion. This makes the objective particularly suitable for digital imaging and for use with wide-field eyepieces offering a 20 mm field of view.
