Light transmitted through or reflected from the sample enters the main objective and is divided into two parallel optical paths. The stereoscopic angle is 11 degrees. The separated light beams are then directed to the eyepieces or to a digital camera. Replacing the main objective changes the microscope’s overall magnification, field of view, and working distance.

Objective characteristics and optical performance
MAGUS Stereo A6, A8, and A10 stereomicroscopes are supplied with a 1× achromatic objective that provides a high level of field curvature correction, along with correction of spherical and chromatic aberrations. The MAGUS 05A 0.5× achromatic main objective increases the working distance without reducing image quality. It also expands the field of view in both the eyepieces and the digital camera while lowering the total magnification of the stereomicroscope.
