Magus 2APO 2x Plan Apochromatic Main Objective (85137)

To generate a three-dimensional image, a CMO stereomicroscope uses a common main objective positioned strictly perpendicular to the specimen plane. Light transmitted through or reflected from the specimen enters this objective and is divided into two parallel optical paths. The stereoscopic angle is 11 degrees. The separated light beams are then directed to the eyepieces or to a digital camera. Replacing the main objective changes the microscope’s magnification, field of view, and working distance.

Objective characteristics and optical performance

MAGUS Stereo A6, A8, and A10 stereomicroscopes are supplied with a 1× achromatic objective that provides a high level of field curvature correction, as well as correction of spherical and chromatic aberrations. The MAGUS 2APO 2× plan apochromatic main objective increases the overall magnification of the stereomicroscope while reducing the working distance and the field of view in both the eyepieces and the digital camera. Its apochromatic optical design offers improved correction of spherical and chromatic aberrations, resulting in sharper, clearer, and more detailed images.
