Delta Optical Titanium 70ED angled spotting scope (DO-1909)

Delta Titanium ED70 20–48×70 Spotting Scope combines excellent optical performance with a compact, lightweight design. It is supplied with a neoprene field cover for protection during use and transport.

Optical system and image quality
The four-element optical system uses extra-low dispersion (ED) glass to effectively correct chromatic and off-axis aberrations. This results in a very sharp, high-contrast image with natural, accurate color reproduction across the entire zoom range.

Zoom, field of view, and close focus
The wide-angle 20–48× zoom eyepiece offers an apparent field of view of 46–70° and a linear field of view of 46 m to 25 m at 1000 m. Lower magnification makes it easy to find your subject, while higher magnification reveals fine details. A close focusing distance of just 4 m allows detailed observation of nearby birds, insects, and other small subjects, even at high magnification.

Viewing comfort
With 16 mm of eye relief, the scope remains comfortable to use for extended periods, including for eyeglass wearers. The adjustable eyecup allows precise positioning of the eye, ensuring relaxed and stable viewing.

Design and construction
The telescope is built around a 70 mm ED glass objective lens and a large, comfortable wide-angle zoom eyepiece with variable focal length, providing magnifications from 20× to 48× with a field of view of 50–70°. The exit pupil is positioned well away from the eyepiece for added comfort. An extendable sunshade integrated into the objective lens helps reduce glare in bright conditions.

Compact size and portability
Thanks to the use of ED glass, the scope employs a short 375 mm focal length lens, allowing the body to remain very compact. The telescope measures only 31 cm in length and weighs about the same as an average-sized pair of binoculars, making it easy to carry and handle in the field.

Mounting, durability, and accessories
The Titanium 70 ED features a rotating tripod mount with a standard 1/4" photographic thread, allowing smooth rotation around the optical axis for precise framing. An optional photographic adapter can be used to connect an SLR camera via a T-ring, selected according to the camera mount type. The scope is housed in a durable metal body with odorless, anti-allergenic gray-green rubber armor. It is fully waterproof and nitrogen-filled to prevent internal fogging. An elegant aluminum hard case protects the instrument during transport.

About ED glass
ED (extra-low dispersion) glass, sometimes referred to as HD glass, is a high-quality optical material that improves light transmission and reduces dispersion. This significantly minimizes chromatic aberration, also known as color fringing, which occurs when light is split into different colors.
