Antlia Filters OIII 3 nm 36 mm (88246)

OIII filters allow only light with a wavelength of 501 nanometres to pass through. This wavelength corresponds to the emission lines of doubly ionised oxygen, which are produced by planetary nebulae and certain emission nebulae. As a result, these objects remain visible while most other light is blocked by the filter. This selective transmission significantly increases contrast and makes faint nebulae visible for the first time.

Astrophotography use
These filters are best suited for monochrome cameras. For optimal results, images captured with an OIII filter should be combined with exposures taken using H-alpha and SII filters. This approach allows astrophotographers to create high-contrast images that clearly reveal fine details in faint nebulae.

Performance in light-polluted conditions
Nebula filters from Antlia provide extremely high contrast, enabling excellent astrophotography results even under heavy light pollution from urban environments or moonlight.
