IDAS Filters NGS1 2" (62321)

IDAS Night Glow & LPS Filters improve the contrast of astronomical emission nebulae against skies affected by both artificial and natural sky glow, while maintaining accurate color balance for broadband objects such as galaxies. Like other IDAS interference filters, the bandpass design accommodates the steep light angles produced by fast optical systems.

Key features include:
• An ideal flat-top profile with a moderate bandpass
• Excellent in-band light transmission
• Steep bandpass edges that reduce internal reflections
• Near-infrared (NIR) blocking up to 1200 nm

Blocked natural sky glow sources include oxygen and sodium emission lines from the upper atmosphere, which become visible at high-altitude, dark-sky locations.
