Description
The iOptron HAZ130 Alt-Az mount features dual strain wave gear drives and represents the highest payload-capacity SWG mount in the iOptron lineup. It is engineered to support extremely large instruments, including telescopes as substantial as a 20-inch f/8 RC truss optical tube, with a maximum payload capacity of up to 60 kg. The mount provides full GoTo pointing and Alt-Az tracking, controlled either via the included 8411 hand controller with OLED display or through independent computer control.
Its all-metal, CNC-machined fork mount design delivers exceptional rigidity and stability for both tracking and imaging applications. Two adjustable Losmandy-style saddles allow the secure mounting of instruments of various sizes. The strain wave gear drive system performs exceptionally well with unbalanced payloads and incorporates a unique friction brake that safely halts movement during both planned and unexpected power interruptions.
A wide-stance, adjustable base with a high-precision leveling indicator ensures maximum accuracy for GoTo operations. The drive system is powered by quiet and reliable stepper motors, contributing to smooth and precise motion.
Additional features include mounting points for NUC computers and other accessories, an integrated GPS module, USB communication ports, and generous movement ranges of 180 degrees in altitude and 360 degrees in azimuth. The mount is also designed for low power consumption.
The HAZ130 is well suited for visual observing and astrophotography, and its compatibility with modern satellite tracking software also makes it an excellent platform for radio communication and antenna applications.
