Description
Omegon Camera GUIDE 662 M Mono (87408)
The Omegon GUIDE 662 M Mono is equipped with the Sony IMX662 monochrome CMOS sensor, known for its exceptional infrared sensitivity. With very low readout noise and a high dynamic range, this camera delivers outstanding performance for demanding astronomical applications. Thanks to its monochrome design, it offers higher quantum efficiency and sharper, more detailed images compared to color sensors.
Ideal for Autoguiding
Finding a suitable guide star anywhere in the sky is easy with this highly sensitive sensor. Even faint stars are detected reliably, allowing short exposure times and high guiding frequencies. This enables precise correction of even small tracking errors from your mount.
The camera is fully compatible with PHD2 and features a built-in ST4 guide port, making it perfectly suited for autoguiding setups.
Compact and Functional Design
The robust anodized aluminum housing is shaped like a 1.25" eyepiece and fits virtually any telescope. Its lightweight construction ensures that it does not place additional strain on your equipment.
The front of the camera includes C- and CS-mount threads, as well as a 1.25" filter thread via adapter. This allows direct attachment of small CCTV lenses or a wide range of astronomical filters.
Deep-Sky Astrophotography
The high sensitivity of the modern CMOS sensor makes capturing nebulae and galaxies significantly easier than in the past. Faint deep-sky objects become accessible thanks to the high quantum efficiency and low read noise. The result is detailed images that reveal structures not visible through visual observation alone.
Planetary and Lunar Imaging for Beginners
This camera is also an excellent entry point into solar system astrophotography. Capture detailed images of Jupiter, Saturn, or lunar craters just as they appear through your eyepiece. You can share your observations with friends and family or observe the Moon and planets live on a screen.
Optimized Transmission and Sensor Protection
A protective window seals the sensor chamber against dust and humidity. Unlike color cameras with built-in infrared blocking filters, this monochrome version features an anti-reflection window that is transparent across a wide spectral range from ultraviolet to infrared (approximately 380–1100 nm).
This allows you to use your own filters and maintain full control over the transmission spectrum, which is particularly valuable for advanced imaging and photometric applications.
Broad Software Compatibility
The camera supports ASCOM and INDI interfaces, ensuring compatibility with a wide range of astrophotography software. It is also natively supported by programs such as PHD2 and N.I.N.A.
