CPM MagnaCut – Next-Generation Blade Steel

The knife features an 82 mm blade made from CPM MagnaCut, a modern powder metallurgy steel. Unlike many traditional stainless steels, MagnaCut minimizes chromium carbides in its structure, resulting in a finer microstructure. This design allows for easier sharpening while maintaining exceptional wear resistance.

CPM MagnaCut combines the toughness associated with CPM-4V, the corrosion resistance of CPM-20CV, and the edge retention of steels such as CPM-CruWear and CPM-4V. With hardness levels reaching up to 64 HRC, it is widely regarded as one of the top-performing steels used in production knives today.

Blade Design and Performance

The wide drop point blade measures 82 mm in length and has a thickness of 3.5 mm at its widest point. A gray Cerakote coating enhances scratch resistance while reinforcing the knife’s tactical aesthetic. The blade features a flat grind for smooth slicing performance and efficient penetration.

Jimping along the spine provides improved thumb traction, ensuring a secure grip during demanding tasks. The robust blade geometry and thickness make it suitable for heavy-duty use while maintaining precise cutting ability.

Locking Mechanism and Safety

The knife utilizes Benchmade’s Auto AXIS® lock, a dual-sided mechanism known for its strength, resistance to dirt, and ambidextrous operation.
