Description
Hughes 9502 One-piece Satellite Terminal Starter Kit
The Hughes 9502 IP Satellite Terminal offers reliable global connectivity through the Inmarsat Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN), specifically designed for IP SCADA and machine-to-machine (M2M) applications. This terminal provides cost-effective, end-to-end IP data connectivity, supporting a variety of industry applications such as:
- Environmental Monitoring
- SmartGrid Operations
- Pipeline and Compressor Monitoring
- Well Site Automation
- Video Surveillance
- Out-of-band Management for Primary Site Communications
Notably, the Hughes 9502 is engineered for ultra-low power consumption (less than 1 watt when idle), making it ideal for remote sites reliant on solar-battery systems with stringent power budgets.
The kit includes 10 meters of RF cabling, allowing flexible antenna placement away from the transceiver. This setup secures the SIM card within a protected area to prevent unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism. Furthermore, future firmware updates will be available at no charge over-the-air (OTA), simplifying maintenance and reducing costs.
