Introducing the Omegon Off-Axis Guider with Micro-Focusing – your key to successful astronomy photography without the need for a guide scope.
Why Choose an Off-Axis Guider?
Unlock the potential for perfect astrophotography with the Omegon Off-Axis Guider. Long exposure images demand precise tracking, a task at which this guider excels, making it an indispensable tool for astrophotography enthusiasts. With its capabilities, you'll soon be capturing the most breathtaking astronomy photos effortlessly.
Key Advantages:
- Enables capture of stunning astronomy photos with round stars
- Compatible with refractors, SCs, MAKs, and RC telescopes
- Compact design with an overall length of only 24mm
- Robust yet lightweight, weighing just 180 grams
- Offers a 45mm optical transmission for full illumination, even with large chips
- Features micro-focusing with an exceptionally smooth helical mechanism offering 0.05mm accuracy
- Provides 75mm of back focus
How Does It Work?
The Omegon Off-Axis Guider ingeniously integrates into the 2-inch focuser in front of your camera. A small prism diverts a fraction of light from the telescope into a separate tube, where your guide camera or crosshair eyepiece attaches. This setup allows for real-time correction of any tracking errors during long exposures, ensuring perfectly round stars in your images.
Connections Made Easy:
Adapting is effortless with the Omegon Off-Axis Guider, featuring an M48 thread on the telescope side and an additional socket for 2-inch eyepieces. The accessory includes three screws and a flat M48 adapter for camera connection, allowing you to rotate your camera as needed to optimize the orientation for your astronomical subject.
Precision Micro-Focusing:
Achieve exact focus with 10mm of travel using the built-in 1.25-inch helical focuser, ideal for auto-guiders or crosshair eyepieces. The generous travel range ensures optimal sharpness for your guide star, while the super-fine scale allows for adjustments as precise as 0.05mm, facilitating rapid and accurate focusing.
Guide Scope or Off-Axis Guider?
While personal preference plays a role, the choice between a guide scope and an off-axis guider extends beyond mere preference. For longer exposures, minimizing movement in the guide scope and telescope optics, particularly in mirror telescopes, is crucial. The Omegon Off-Axis Guider elegantly addresses this, offering a single beam path with no offset, ensuring precise tracking without additional complexities.
