Astronomik CLS Filter

The Astronomik CLS is an affordable filter designed for visual observation, black-and-white photography, and CCD imaging of nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters. It is compatible with astronomical instruments of any size. Since late 2008, Astronomik has been producing "Halo-Free" filters, offering improved performance for astrophotography.

This filter effectively blocks light from mercury and sodium-vapor lamps, while allowing most visible light and H-alpha emissions to pass through. It ensures that all significant emission lines and the spectral regions visible to a well-dark-adapted eye can pass without obstruction.

Main Use

The Astronomik CLS filter is optimized for aperture ratios ranging from 1:3 to 1:15. Unlike many other filters, it minimizes transmission losses and chromatic distortions unless used with extremely bright aperture ratios (1:2 or more). It is suitable for telescopes of any aperture size.
