Astronomik CLS Filter

The Astronomik CLS is an affordable filter designed for visual observation, black-and-white photography, and CCD imaging of nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters. It is compatible with astronomical instruments of any size. Since late 2008, Astronomik has been producing its improved "Halo-Free" filters for better performance.

This filter effectively blocks light from mercury and sodium-vapor lamps while allowing most visible light and H-alpha emissions to pass through. It ensures that all significant emission lines and the spectral regions visible to a well-dark-adapted eye can pass unobstructed.

Main Use
The Astronomik CLS is optimized for aperture ratios between 1:3 and 1:15. It minimizes transmission losses and chromatic distortions, which are common in other filters, unless used with extremely bright aperture ratios (1:2 or more). It is suitable for telescopes of all aperture sizes.
