It enhances contrast between deep-sky objects and the background by blocking artificial light sources such as sodium- and mercury-vapor lamps, as well as airglow. Its wider transmission curve compared to UHC filters allows more light to pass through, ensuring stars appear less dimmed.

Description
The Astronomik CLS-CCD filter is designed for astrophotography under light-polluted skies, particularly for DSLR cameras modified for astronomical use. It enhances contrast between deep-sky objects and the background by blocking artificial light sources such as sodium- and mercury-vapor lamps, as well as airglow. Its wider transmission curve compared to UHC filters allows more light to pass through, ensuring stars appear less dimmed. This filter is ideal for capturing nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters using telescopes or photographic lenses with apertures of f/3 and above.
